SF Cat Calls: mobile veterinary nurse

Hello! I’m Erin Meyer, founder of SF Cat Calls, a veterinary nurse that comes to you. I provide a variety of compassionate, specialized pet care services that are convenient and comfortable for you and your pet.

Erin Meyer has been working in veterinary medicine for more than 25 years.

Originally from Michigan, Erin moved to San Francisco in 1993 and immediately began working at the SF SPCA Animal Hospital. She has a BS in Biochemistry from San Francisco State University and an AS in Veterinary Technology from Foothill College. For the last two decades, Erin has gained extensive experience in veterinary nursing while working at Veterinary Vision as a surgical nurse, San Francisco Veterinary Specialists (SFVS) as an internal medicine, ophthalmology and emergency nurse. She has also worked in general practice with Avenues Pet Hospital and Presidio Way Veterinary Hospital as their overnight ICU nurse. She is currently working at Blue Sparrow Holistic Veterinary House Calls.

Erin has owned her own cat sitting and house call business for 15 years with a special interest in feline medicine and hospice care. She loves playing a crucial role in the health and well being of so many wonderful animals. She realizes the importance of animals being able to stay home for calm and quick health care procedures that would normally cause unnecessary stress for both owners and their pets in the hospital environment.

Erin lives in San Francisco with her husband, Zach, and two kitties, Lefty and Otter. In her downtime, she enjoys hiking Bay Area trails, reading and wine tasting.

Erin was a godsend at a really difficult and stressful time. After our cat, Katrina, was diagnosed with advanced kidney disease and sent home with a life expectancy of only a few days, Erin helped guide us through the options, made the right recommendations, and, along with our veterinarian, extended the time we had left with her (with full quality of life intact) for two and a half years. During that time, Erin’s professionalism, care and devotion to Katrina gave me complete trust that we were leaving our pet and our house in capable hands when we needed to be away.
